FAT (Part 3 of 3) - Easy tips for cooking šŸ‘©ā€šŸ³ with less fat ā¬‡ļøā¬‡ļøā¬‡ļø

I’ve found that sometimes all we need is a little advicešŸ’”and most of us are more than willing to make adjustments in our diets that could greatly impact our health. Sometimes, we just do things because that’s the way momšŸ‘µšŸ» did it. As time has gone by, we have so much more research and information at our fingertipsšŸ–than our parents had. Thank goodness, or I might still be cooking with lard😬. The way we prepare our mealsšŸ½ and cook our food can help reduce the fat in our diets.

Below are some quick tips:

šŸ‘Rather than deep-frying šŸ³ or pan-frying in oil, use low-fat cooking techniques such as broiling, grilling, stir-frying or air-frying. I use my air-fryer daily. It makes delicious fat-free french fries šŸŸor sweet potato friesšŸ

šŸ‘If you tend to eat out a lot, ask the server how the food is prepared before ordering and choose broiled, grilled or stir-fried items

šŸ‘Select lean cuts of meatšŸ“šŸŸšŸ¦ƒ

šŸ‘Remove any fat from meat🄩 before cooking and drain the grease after cooking if appropriate

šŸ‘Remove the skin from poultryšŸ— before eating

šŸ‘Use spray oil in place of regular oil

If a recipe calls for oil, sometimes I will experiment with using half the amount or none at all, and no one can tell the difference. You can also substitute chicken stock when sauteeing vegetables 🄦or meat

šŸ‘If you are baking🄮, you can substitute the fat for applesauce, pumpkin puree or bananas

šŸ‘Use non-stick cookware which eliminates the need to add oil

You just have to get a little creative and try out different techniques. I like to play around with different seasonings, herbs 🌿and spices to add flavor. Eating healthy doesn’t have to taste bad🤢. Give it a try, you may even like it!
